UTICA, NY – SUNYIT freshmen Diego Montaleza (New York, NY/MLK) and Malick Faye (Bronx, NY/MLK) have both been selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Performance Subaru Men's NCAA Division III All-East Region Third Team.

Montaleza had a spectacular season for the Wildcats, as he was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year and selected to the NEAC All-Conference First Team after registering a team-best 20 points on six goals and a program single-season record eight assists.  The 5-foot-9 forward also won two NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week awards during the season.

Faye also had a fantastic year, as he was crowned the NEAC Goalie of the Year and earned a spot on the NEAC All-Conference First Team after registering program single-season records of seven shutouts and a 0.83 goals against average in addition to 56 saves and a 12-6-1 record in 19 starts.  The 6-foot-3 stopper was also named the Most Valuable Player of the NEAC Tournament after registering six saves and allowing just one goal in two playoff contests to help lead the team to its first-ever NEAC Championship. 

The men's soccer team had its greatest season in program history, finishing a program-best 13-6-1 overall and making its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the NEAC Championship.
