UTICA, NY – SUNYIT senior Daniel Twumasi (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Upstate/Metro Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.

Twumasi had a sensational week for the Wildcats to lead them to a 2-0 record during that period, including a conference victory to help the team clinch the NEAC regular season championship.  Twumasi opened the week by scoring the game-winning goal in a thrilling 1-0 double-overtime victory over Sage last Tuesday, and followed that up with two huge goals in a 3-2 victory over conference rival Keuka College Saturday that secured the top seed in the NEAC tournament. 

Twumasi, the program's all-time leader in career goals, currently leads the team with eight goals on the year.

The Wildcats finished the regular season 12-5 overall and 8-1 in the NEAC, which earned them the right to host the NEAC Tournament at the Wildcat Soccer Field this Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7.  They will open competition at 10:45 am Saturday, with their opponent yet to be determined.
