Student Association to Offer Free Transportation to St. Lawrence for Men's Soccer NCAA Tournament Game Saturday

UTICA, NY – The SUNYIT Student Association will be offering free transportation for students to the campus of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY to help cheer on the Wildcat men's soccer team in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where they will take on St. Lawrence at 11:00 am Saturday.

A 44-seat yellow school bus will be offered free of charge to students and will be leaving from the Campus Center at 8:00 am Saturday.  Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be reserved by signing up at the Office of Student Activities, located in Room 208 of the Campus Center.

Tickets for the contest are $6 for adults, $3 for students and $2 for children under 12.

The Wildcats earned an automatic bid to the tournament after defeating Penn State Harrisburg in a penalty shootout 4-3 Sunday to win the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. They are currently a program-best 13-5-1 overall and boast the NEAC Coach, Player and Goalie of the Year in head coach Peterson Jerome, freshman forward Diego Montaleza (New York, NY/MLK) and freshman goalie Malick Faye (Bronx, NY/MLK), respectively.

St. Lawrence, 16-2-2 overall and ranked seventh nationally by the NSCAA, earned an automatic bid to the tournament after winning the Liberty League title and will be the host site of the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this weekend.
