Men's Soccer Drops Second Straight Contest with 1-0 Loss to Elmira

ELMIRA, NY – The SUNYIT men's soccer team dropped its second straight contest with a 1-0 loss to Elmira College in nonconference action Tuesday.  The Wildcats are now 9-5 on the year, while Elmira improved to 10-3-2 overall.

SUNYIT was able to outshoot Elmira 20-14 during the contest, but freshman goalie Alex Todd came up huge between the posts for Elmira, registering 13 saves on the day.  The game's lone goal came just two minutes and 11 seconds into the contest, as Elmira freshman Matthew Feldman scored from just inside the penalty box on a combination of passes from Erik Lee and Ernesto Valverde.

Freshman goalie Malick Faye (Bronx, NY/MLK) had three saves for SUNYIT.

The Wildcats will be back in action this Saturday when they host NEAC rival Cazenovia College at the Wildcat Soccer Field.  The team will also wear pink jerseys during the contest in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and will be collecting donations at the field entrance.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
