MLAX: Wildcats Scheduled to Face St. Joseph (CT) in the First Round of the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. 

Utica, NY - After securing the NAC championship over the weekend, the Suny Poly men's lacrosse team shifts its focus to the NCAA Tournament. It is the second NCAA Tournament bid in four years for the Wildcats. The 10-6 Wildcats (6-2 in conference play) are scheduled to face off with the St. Joseph (CT) Blue Jays in the first round of the tournament. 

The Wildcats are coming into this game riding an offensive high, scoring 30 goals in two conference tournament games. Andrew Maycock, Payton Thomas, Griffin LaFleur, Luke Taylor and Michael Baker all picked up multiple goals in the tournament, while Joseph VanZandt stood tall in net, stopping 32 of the 49 shots he faced. Four Wildcats were named to the All-Tournament Team (Luke Taylor, Payton Thomas, Liam Podszebka and Joseph VanZandt), with senior Goalie VanZandt winning MVP honors.

The Blue Jays are coming into the tournament hot off of their first GNAC Championship in program history. The Blue Jays are currently 16-3, and are led by senior Ryan Paltauf, who has 78 points on the season. Starting 18 games in net for the Blue Jays was Trey McCann. McCann finished with a 15-3 record and a 53.0 save percentage. 

The two conference champions are scheduled to take the field across from each other on Wednesday, May 8th at 4:00 P.M.
