MLAX: Five Goal Game For Rosaschi Helps Wildcats Stay Undefeated.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 this season with a 19-10 win over the SUNY Canton Kangaroos in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The Wildcat offense was electric in the game, scoring a season-high 19 goals on a season-high 59 shots. The win was the second of the year for the Wildcats over Canton. 

 

The Wildcats dominated all four quarters, putting together offensive bursts to maintain a lead from the jump. The game was within three goals for the entire first half and the first six minutes of the third quarter, but a big 8-0 run spanning the last seven minutes of the third quarter and the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter put the game out of reach of the Kangaroos. 

 

GAME NOTES: 

  • Nine Wildcats scored two or more points in the game for the Wildcats. Two players recorded one point. 

  • Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) led all players with a season-high five goals. His 10 goals this season are tied for the most by a Wildcat this season. 

  • Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.) had a season-high three goals and went 5-7 in the faceoff circle. 

  • Shane Wyman (East Greenbush, N.Y.), Rhett Staufer (Buffalo, N.Y.), Jackson Murphy (Greenville, N.Y.), and Brody Guido (North Syracuse, N.Y.) each had three points. Wyman and Stauffer each had two goals and an assist. Guido had a goal and an assist. 

  • Robert Pollock (Fulton, N.Y.) had a game-high four caused turnovers and four groundballs on the defensive side. 

  • Dillon May (Manlius, N.Y.) and Steven Sullivan (Carthage, N.Y.) recorded a game-high six groundballs. 

  • Bennett Smith (Manlius, N.Y.) and Andrew Maycock (Utica, N.Y.) each had two points on a goal and an assist.

  • Amelio Ripa (New Hartford, N.Y.) had two goals for the second consecutive game. 

  • Matthew Johnson (Amsterdam, N.Y.) earned his fourth win of the season, recording three saves on 11 shots faced. 

  • Jacob Facey led the Roos with four points on three goals and an assist. 

  • Trent Dow and Hunter Olsen had three points each for Canton. 

  • Justin LaDuke made 17 saves for Canton en route to the loss. He is now 1-2 on the year. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will take on SUNY Delhi on Saturday, April 17th at 1:00 PM. The game will be played at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field.
