UTICA, NY – SUNYIT senior James Willey (Middleville, NY/Mohawk Valley CC) has been selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 3.
Willey earned the honor for his strong performance at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro/Upstate Golf Championships, which were held at the Midvale Country Club in Rochester, NY this past weekend. Willey shot an 83 in round one and an 84 in round two for a final score of 167, giving him the best individual score for SUNYIT during both rounds and helping him finish in a tie for 23rd place individually out of 70 golfers. SUNYIT finished the event in 11th place out of 14 teams.
The Wildcats will be back in action this Friday when they travel to compete against NEAC rival Cazenovia College. Tee time is scheduled for 10:00 am.
