MBB: Wildcats Fall to 3-5 in NAC Play With 79-66 Loss at Delhi.

DELHI, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team lost to the SUNY Delhi Broncos 79-66 on Friday night in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) west division road game. The Wildcats held an early lead but were overtaken with 11 minutes to play in the first half. SUNY Poly would battle the Broncos, cutting the lead to one basket a handful of times in the first, but Delhi made some timely baskets to keep the 'Cats in the rear-view mirror. SUNY Poly is now 8-10 this season with a 3- NAC record. Delhi improved their record to 12-7 with a 5-3 record in NAC play.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Jesse O'Dell was fantastic for the Wildcats. He scored a game-high 25 points and had 10 rebounds to record his fourth double-double of the season.
  • Delhi's Jacob Beach and Lester McCarthy each had 18 points in the game. Beach also had a game-high three steals.
  • Cheickne Toure and Anthony Rose each scored 11 points for the Wildcats. They both also had four rebounds and three assists.
  • Delhi's Isiah Barnes rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points and a game-high nine assists.
  • The statistical turning point of the game was the turnover battle. The Wildcats turned the ball over 22 times in the game leading to 32 points off of turnovers for the Broncos. The Broncos turned the ball over just five times.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will head to Cobleskill on Saturday for a NAC West Division game against the Fighting Tigers. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM tip-off.
