MBB: Wildcats Beaten at Home by Utica.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team lost to Utica on Tuesday at home 90-53. The Utica University Pioneers went up by 15 points in the first half and continued to grow their lead to a high point of 37 late in the second half. The Pioneers shot 50% from the field and hit 10 3-pointers in the game en route to the win. The Pioneers are now 2-0 this season and the Wildcats are now 2-3.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Justice Brantley had a game-high 19 points for Utica. He also had a game-high 14 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
  • Dayion Thompson scored 18 points and had five rebounds off the bench for the Pioneers.
  • Levi Spina led the Wildcats with 16 points and four steals. Spina also had three rebounds and an assist. He shot 70% from the field.
  • Dylan Ernst had 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will head to Schenectady on Saturday, November 26th to participate in the Sig Makofski Tournament hosted by Union College. The Wildcats will play St. Joseph's in the first round on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
