GOLF: Wildcats Host Inaugural SUNY Poly Golf Invitational.

 

ROME, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly golf team hosted the first SUNY Poly Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Teugega Country Club in Rome. The Wildcats finished fifth in the team standings recording a score of 359. SUNY Canton scored a 320 to win the tournament on the men's side. On the women's side, Geneseo won the event with a team score of 377. Jillian Draper from Geneseo won the women's event with an 82. Utica's Adam Woodmansee won the men's event after a four-hole playoff.

 

The men's event had an exciting finish. Utica's Adam Woodmansee and SUNY Canton's Adam Szlamczynski both finished at +6 through 18. The two went out for a playoff that ended up going four holes. Woodmansee hit a clutch birdie on the fourth to earn the win.

 

SUNY Poly's Isaac Falk was the Wildcat's top finisher. He placed T-5th with a +11 (81). James Lynch shot an 89 to tie for 16th. Josh Komacek finished 22nd with a 94. Luke Handerhan and William Pruess rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with scores of 95 and 99 respectively.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will take part in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Tournament this weekend. The event will be played at the Waterville Country Club in Waterville, Maine. The event will be played over two days beginning on Saturday, October 8th.
