  • SB: Eight Wildcats Earn All-Conference Honors.

    Utica, NY - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the Baseball All-Conference Award winners for the 2023 season. The awards are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the NAC and consist of five individual awards, two All-Conference Teams for each division, and a nine-player Sportsmanship Team. Nine Wildcats were named to the All-Conference team, including Trinity Critelli, Kimberly Birmingham, Amy DeSena, Ava Faragon, Alivia Turk, Jadyn Childers, Joy Stevens and Taylor Hunter. Ariel Bell was selected to the Sportsmanship team.

The Wildcats had seven players named to the All-Conference team, including Aaron Kifer, Ryan Pelton, Kurt Johnson, Ethan Merone, Andrew Soule, Quinn Hill and Parker Wing. Lukasz Dubicki was named to the Sportsmanship team.
  • SB: Wildcats Comeback Bid Falls Just Short In NAC Championship Game.

    Bangor, ME - The Suny Poly softball team was defeated by Husson University in the NAC championship game by a score of 4-3. All of the Wildcats' runs came in the sixth inning, thanks to an RBI single from Kimberly Birmingham followed by a two-run double from Jadyn Childers. Trinity Critelli pitched the entire game, finishing with eight strikeouts. The Wildcats finished their strong 2024 campaign with a record of 26-10.
  • SB: Wildcats Split Day 2 of NAC Tournament, Earn Championship Spot.

    Bangor, ME - The SUNY Poly softball team split day two of the NAC Tournament, dropping the first game to Husson University 12-1 and winning the second game against Thomas College 10-9. The win against the Terriers gives the Wildcats a spot in the NAC Championship game, where they will once again face the Husson Eagles

    Bangor, ME - The SUNY Poly women’s softball team took care of business against the Thomas Terriers in game one of the NAC tournament. Star pitcher, Trinity Critelli, led the way on the mound, only allowing one hit and striking out 11 over seven innings. At the plate, the wildcats were carried by Alivia Turk and Kimberly Birmingham who both drove in three runs. SUNY Poly would win the game by a score of 6-0.
  • MLAX: Wildcats Fall to the Blue Jays in 1st Round of NCAA Tournament.

    West Hartford, Conn - The Suny Poly men’s lacrosse season came to an end, following a 13-2 defeat against the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Luke Taylor scored both of the Wildcat goals, and 2024 NAC Defensive Player of the Year, Joseph VanZandt stopped 18 of the 31 shots he faced. The Wildcats conclude their season with an NAC championship and a record of 10-7.

    Utica, NY - Following a strong 2024 campaign, Senior Goalie Joseph VanZandt and head coach Brandon Misiaszek were both honored with NAC individual season awards. VanZandt was named the NAC Defensive Player of the Year, while head coach Misiaszek was named NAC coach of the year for the third time in his career.

The awards are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the NAC. The Wildcats had five players on the first team and one on the second team.

    Utica, NY - After securing the NAC championship over the weekend, the Suny Poly men’s lacrosse team shifts its focus to the NCAA Tournament. It is the second NCAA Tournament bid in four years for the Wildcats. The 10-6 Wildcats (6-2 in conference play) are scheduled to face off with the St. Joseph (CT) Blue Jays in the first round of the tournament.

    Utica, NY - Following a strong 2024 campaign, the 24-8 Wildcats are getting ready to head to Maine for this year's NAC Championship tournament. The Wildcats put together a strong season, in which they went 14-1 in conference play. The Wildcats led the conference in multiple stats, including batting average (.381), ERA (1.71), Opponent batting average (.203) and fewest earned runs allowed (42). The Wildcats are returning to the playoffs for the second time in as many years, following last year's efforts that saw them fall just short of the championship.

    Castine, ME - The Suny Poly Men’s lacrosse team captured its second ever NAC Championship, defeating the Maine Maritime Mariners 18-8. The win concludes a fast-paced two days for the Wildcats that began at SUNY Morrisville, and ended in Maine as conference champions. The duo of freshman Ryan Carroll and graduate student Andrew Maycock led the charge for SUNY Poly, each scoring four goals. Joseph VanZandt stopped 15 of the 23 shots he faced and, after the game, was named NAC Tournament MVP.

    Morrisville, N.Y - The Suny Poly men’s lacrosse team has kept their season alive, ousting the Suny Morrisville Mustangs in the NAC semifinal round by a score of 12-9. Four Wildcats scored multiple goals, including hat trick performances from midfielders Luke Taylor and Payton Thomas. In net, Joseph VanZandt came up big, stopping 17 of the 26 shots he faced. The win sends the Wildcats to Maine, where they will square off with the #1 seeded Maine Maritime Mariners in the championship game.

    Canton, N.Y - The SUNY Poly women’s lacrosse teams season has come to an end, following a 16-3 loss against the top seeded SUNY Canton Kangaroos. Katie Kopcza, Madison Bastien and Callie Johnson were the lone goal scorers for the Wildcats. Goalie Jayden Brown stopped 17 of the Kangaroos 33 shots on net. The Wildcats wrap up their season with a 6-9 record.

    Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women’s lacrosse team is heading to the playoffs after finishing their season with a 6-8 record. The Wildcats secured the 4th seed in the tournament, thanks to their 4-3 record in conference play. They will get ready to square off with the #1 seeded SUNY Canton Kangaroos.

    Utica, N.Y - After wrapping up their season with a record of 8-6, the SUNY Poly men’s lacrosse team is now preparing for their first round matchup against the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs in the NAC Tournament. With a 6-2 conference record, the Wildcats secured the #3 seed in the tournament. Maine Maritime Academy earned the #1 seed, following their 7-1 record in conference play.

    Utica, N.Y - The SUNY Poly softball Team swept a three game series against conference foe SUNY Morrisville, ending all games in five innings. Backed by stellar pitching, the Wildcats offense was once again rolling, scoring 33 runs over 15 innings. Two Wildcats hit career milestones, beginning in game one when Trinity Critelli became the first Wildcat in SUNY Poly Softball history to reach 500 strikeouts, followed by Amy DeSena reaching 100 career hits. The wins push the Wildcats to 22-8 on the season.

    Farmington, ME - The SUNY Poly women’s lacrosse team picked up an important 14-10 conference game win against The University of Maine at Farmington Beavers. Callie Johnson led the way for the Wildcats, scoring six goals on nine shots. Katie Kopcza also continued her impressive season, picking up three goals and four assists. The win propels the Wildcats to 6-7 on the season, and 4-1 in conference play.

    Utica, N.Y. - Senior James Mion was selected to the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) All-Conference First Team following a spectacular campaign. The middle blocker from Glenville, N.Y. is the sole Wildcat to be honored.
  • BASE: Walk-off Win Leads Wildcats to a Split Against Eastern Nazarene in Conference Play.

    SCHOHARIE, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s baseball team split in a doubleheader against Eastern Nazarene in North Atlantic Conference play on Sunday. The Wildcats dropped the first game of the twin bill 5-4, before winning on a walk-off base hit from Ethan Walker to win the second game 5-4. With the win, the Wildcats move to 11-13 on the season and 2-3 in NAC play.

    Clinton, N.Y - The SUNY Poly women’s softball team picked up another three wins, thanks to some hot bats and stellar pitching. In three games against the SUNY Canton Kangaroos, SUNY Poly scored a total of 47 runs, while only giving up 12. The wins give the Wildcats a 16-4 record on the season, as well as pushes their win streak to six games.

    Dudley, Mass - The SUNY Poly men’s volleyball team was defeated by the top-seeded Nichols College Bison. The Wildcats fought hard, winning the second set, but it was not enough as the Bison would go on to win the match in four sets. The Wildcats end their season with a record of 12-16.

    Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s volleyball team defeated the SUNY Potsdam Bears in a thrilling five set battle. Behind spectacular performances from Jason Aubrey, James Mion, Jordan Weir and Peter Gottler, the Wildcats rallied back from being down 2 sets to none to win the match 3-2. The win keeps the Wildcats season alive, as the team now prepares for a matchup with the #1 ranked Nichols College.

    Utica. N.Y - The SUNY Poly women’s lacrosse team got back in the win column, defeating the Maine Maritime Mariners by a score of 16-12. Katie Kopcza continued her dominant 2024 campaign, scoring six goals on 11 shots. Wildcat goalie, Jayden Brown stopped 15 of the 27 shots thrown her way, picking up her third win of the season. The Wildcats are now 4-6 on the season as they look ahead to another conference matchup with the Morrisville State Mustangs.

Luke Taylor led the Wildcats with five goals, while Joseph VanZandt made 14 saves in net. The win keeps the Wildcats undefeated in conference play and pushes their win streak to six games.

Lyle Beeman led the way for the Wildcats, picking up six points in the effort. The Wildcats had six different goal scores, with three of those six scorers registering a hat trick. The win pushes the Wildcats record to 6-2, and extends their win streak to five games.

    Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s lacrosse team won big against the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers. Two Wildcats recorded hat tricks on the day, while seven players in total tallied multiple goals. The win moves the Wildcats to 5-2 on the season, and pushes their win streak to four games.

    UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s lacrosse team won a tightly contested battle against the SUNY Delhi Broncos by a score of 8-7. Wildcat goalie Joseph VanZandt picked up his first win on the season after stopping 14 of Delhi’s 21 shots in the game. SUNY Poly would have six different players find the back of the net, capped off by a game winning goal from Luke Taylor in the final minute of the fourth period. The Wildcats would win 8-7, lifting their record to 4-2 on the season.

    UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women’s lacrosse team dominated against the Vermont State Lyndon Hornets, winning by a score of 18-2. Senior Katie Kopcza continued her impressive point streak, picking up 10 points in the match, as well as earning her 100th career point. The victory puts the Wildcats at 3-4 on the season.

    Canton, N.Y - The SUNY Poly women’s softball team dropped two close games to the St. Lawrence Saints. Trinity Critelli took the mound in the first game, allowing six runs on 10 hits. The Wildcats struggled to find a big hit, as they left seven runners on base. In game two, Wildcats Joy Stevens was on the bump, where she allowed two runs on 12 hits. SUNY Poly would lead for much of the game, until the bottom of the 8th inning, when the Saints would walk it off on an error. The Wildcats are now 10-4 on the season.
