WVB: Wildcats Fall to Lakers in Three Sets.

Oswego, N.Y - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team struggled to find a rhythm on the road, losing to the Oswego Lakers in three straight sets. The Wildcats put up a fight, keeping two of the sets within striking distance, but the Lakers would ultimately go on to pick up their third straight victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats fell behind early in the first set, allowing the Lakers to extend their lead to as much as nine points. The Wildcats would eventually drop the first set 25-14.

SUNY Poly turned up the pressure in the second set, keeping the score close up until the very end. At one point in the set the score was 22-20, but a big kill from Oswego followed by a Wildcat attack error secured the set victory for the Lakers.

The Wildcats and Lakers exchanged points for much of the third set, but the strong offensive pressure from Oswego would end up being the difference maker as the Lakers would close the set out on top by a score of 25-21.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats are back on the road for a matchup with the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. That match is scheduled for September 13th at 6:00 PM.
