UTICA, NY – Through the rain, wind and mud, the Wildcats battled the Gators for most of the game Wednesday afternoon before the first and only goal was scored.  Sophomore midfielder Stephanie Wurz (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) capitalized on a clean cross from sophomore teammate Abbey Hanehan (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) in the fifty-seventh minute.  With the win, the Wildcats post a 4-6 overall and a 3-2 NEAC record.

Shot leaders for the Wildcats were Hanehan with five and freshman midfielder Veronica Metz (Morrisville, N.Y./Morrisville Eaton) who recorded four.  Sophomore goalkeeper Aubrey Campbell (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) was credited with five save between the pipes.

Leading the Gators in shots was senior midfield Rebecca Marszalek (Adams, M.A./Hoosac-Valley) with two.  Senior goalkeeper Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) made ten saves in the match.

The Wildcats go on the road this weekend for two NEAC matchups against Gallaudet on Saturday and Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday.  Both games are scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
