Erin Schurr to Take over Women’s Lacrosse Program

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Lacrosse team will have a new head coach in 2013-14, as assistant coach Erin Schurr has been promoted to take over the 3rd-year program.

Schurr, who is also the head coach for the SUNYIT women's soccer team, served as an assistant for the women's lacrosse team during the last two seasons.

"We have great expectations for Erin as she takes over our newest sports program and builds on its fledgling success," said SUNYIT Athletic Director Kevin Grimmer regarding the appointment, continuing, "Women's lacrosse and soccer are major team sports for SUNYIT and we're excited to see them fully develop and compete well under her leadership."

A former Fredonia State standout, Schurr is looking forward to pushing the team to new heights:

"I'm very excited to have been given this opportunity to lead the women's lacrosse program at SUNYIT," said Schurr, "Looking at our success so far coupled with the incredible recruiting opportunities provided by the overall direction SUNYIT has been headed in, I think we can build not just a competitive program, but a championship one."
