MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball met up with Penn State Abington on Tuesday. The game; a rematch from last year's NEAC semi-final; ended with the Wildcats getting their revenge on the  Nittany Lions for ending their season just a year ago. The final score of the game was 78-66. Despite the 12 point margin of victory, Abington clawed their way back within striking distance on a few occasions during the contest, but could not hold down the Wildcat offense that shot nearly 52% from the field.

Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa HS) scored a game high 30 points. She shot 73% from the field and hit the boards for eight rebounds. She attacked the basket proficiently and hit quite a few pull up elbow jumpers that caught the defense sitting back in the lane. Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fabius-Pompey HS) spread the floor and gave some range to the Wildcat offense by shooting 50% from three point land. Her 24 points were second most in the contest. Stevie's four steals were the most in the game by any player.

Abington's Janaiah Elum had a team high 20 points. She made some unbelievable passes in route to her four assists including a no look, behind the back pass that got a rise out of the Wildcat fans. She hit four three pointers on eight attempts and grabbed three rebounds.

With the win, the Wildcats advance to the NEAC Final Four hosted by Lancaster Bible. The team will face Gallaudet University on Saturday night in the semi-finals. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 PM. The game will be streamed live HERE.
