MSOC: Wildcats Roll Past the Knights, Remain Undefeated on the Season.

Newburgh, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team continued their winning ways, after defeating the Mount Saint Mary College Knights by a score of 6-1. Five Wildcats registered goals, including forward Dominick Spychalksi who scored twice in the matchup. This is the first time the Wildcats have gone unbeaten through their first four games since 2013 when the team started 3-0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

It was a tale of two halves, with only one of the seven total goals in the game coming in the first half. Colby Diamond would be the one to get the Wildcats on the board first, scoring in the 34th minute thanks to a setup pass from Dominick Spychalski. The Wildcats would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Johnny Theze would strike first in the second half, picking up his sixth goal of the season. A quick response from the Knights would cut the lead to 2-1, but the Wildcats would not let them get any closer, scoring four goals in the next 22 minutes. Matthew McCord, Dominick Spychalski and Jayden Suriel would be the goal scorers for SUNY Poly, leading to the Wildcats 6-1 victory on the road.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats are back on home turf as they are set to face off with the Hamilton Continentals on September 17th at 6:00 PM.
