West Hartford, Conn - The Suny Poly men's lacrosse season came to an end, following a 13-2 defeat against the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Luke Taylor scored both of the Wildcat goals, and 2024 NAC Defensive Player of the Year, Joseph VanZandt stopped 18 of the 31 shots he faced. The Wildcats conclude their season with an NAC championship and a record of 10-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats and Blue Jays remained scoreless in the first quarter up until Matthew Wurszt found the back of the net for the Blue Jays with four minutes remaining in the quarter. Saint Joseph would add two more goals before ending the quarter on top by a score of 3-0.

SUNY Poly would show some life in the second quarter, thanks to Luke Taylor scoring two goals in 30 seconds. With under a minute left in the quarter, the Blue Jays found a way to sneak a couple past Joseph Vanzandt, and would take a 6-2 lead into halftime.
