Utica, N.Y. - SUNY Poly is thrilled to announce the appointment of Steven Campanaro as the new Men's and Women's Head Golf Coach.
Campanaro, a certified PGA Professional, joins SUNY Poly with a distinguished background, having recently served as the PGA Head Golf Professional at Teugega Country Club. His tenure there was marked by multiple achievements, including being named the 2020 Central New York PGA Golf Professional of the Year. Campanaro's leadership at Teugega was instrumental in expanding women's and junior golf programs by over 30% as well as increasing tournament participation by 55%.
Campanaro's resume also includes notable roles such as PGA Professional/Golf Operations Manager at Turning Stone Resort, where he was recognized as the CNY PGA Resort Merchandiser of the Year in 2008 and 2009. His career also encompasses roles at Kanon Valley Country Club and Monarch Country Club.

"His ability to inspire players and elevate golf programs aligns perfectly with our mission and we are confident that his strategic vision and enthusiasm will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to our golf teams."
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Campanaro has been involved in various charitable golf programs, including the Notah Begay III Foundation and the United Cerebral Palsy Golf Clinic. He has also helped The American Heart Association raise money for the past 21 years.
"I am honored to be selected to lead the golf program at SUNY Poly," said Campanaro. "Growing the game of golf has always been a passion of mine, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of expanding the program that is already in place and creating an atmosphere that is both fun and competitive."
