CLINTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's cross country team placed fifth on Saturday in the Hamilton College Invitational. The 'Cats were led by freshman runner Lauren Phetteplace (Cortland, N.Y.) who ran the 6K in 20:52.8. The Wildcats had a team score of 168 and had four runners finish the race in under 25 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lauren Phetteplace finished first for the Wildcats. The freshman finished the reace with a time of 20:52.8. her mile pace was 6.44.
• Jalize Mejia-Perez (Bronx, N.Y.) ran a solid race for the Wildcats, placing 46th overall with a time of 22:24.6
• Molly Burdick (Johnson City, N.Y.), Kassidy Eng (Staten Island, N.Y.), and Emma Cassidy (East Aurora, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats. They placed 52nd, 57th, and 63rd respectively.
• Hamilton College won the race with a team score of 33. They placed 1st, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th.
• Hamilton's score was 35 points lower than Le Moyne, who placed second with 68 points.
