WCC: SUNY Poly Takes Third at the Stephen A. Warde Invitational

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's cross country team came in third place on Saturday with a score of 83 points at the Stephen A. Warde Invitational. SUNY Poly freshmen Lauren Phetteplace (Cortland, N.Y.) finished first for the Wildcats in fourth place with a time of 20:39.23.

 

NOTABLES:

  • The Wildcats placed three runners in the top 10. Lauren Phetteplace led the pack in fourth. Molly Burdick (Johnson City, N.Y.) finished in ninth and senior Jalize Mejia-Perez (Bronx, N.Y.) finished in 10th place.
  • Hartwick College finished first overall with a total of 52 points.
  • The Wildcats finished first out of three NEAC teams competing in the race. Cazenovia finished in fourth with 88 points, SUNY Cobleskill finished fifth with 93 points, and Morrisville finished 6th with 118 points.

SUNY Poly travels to Lancaster, Pa. for the Charger Invitational. The meet is scheduled for an 11:00 am start on Saturday, Sept.15. The last appearance for the Wildcats in the Charger Invitational was a third place finish in 2016.
