MARCY, N.Y. – SUNY Poly cross country hosted their annual SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational on Saturday. 10 women's teams participated in the race, with 72 total runners finishing. A dry course and mild temperatures led to perfect running conditions for the 12th instalment of the Short Course Invitational, leading to a new course record being set by one runner.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS:

• Riley Poisson from William Smith was the individual who broke the course record set back in 2016. Poisson ran an impressive 16:25.3 4K, with a mile pace of 6:18. She beat the previous record by 34 seconds.
• Utica College was the best finishing team with a total of 28 points. Their runners placed second, third, fifth, eighth, and 10th.
• SUNY Poly finished in fourth place as a team with 136 points. Their placing runners finished seventh, 28th, 30th, 35th, and 36th.

SUNY Poly will travel to Cobleskill to take part in the Steven A. Warde Invitational at SUNY Cobleskill. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th. The women's race will start at 11:00 AM with the men following at 12:00 PM.
