UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Women's Volleyball team defeated local rival Utica College in close, hard fought match on Thursday (26-24, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22). It is the second time this season the Wildcats have beaten the Pioneers in four sets. The Wildcats have won 4 of their last five matches, improving to a 9-15 overall record. Karlie King (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the way for SUNY Poly, as she recorded season highs in both kills and digs.
NOTABLES:
- Karlie King had 18 kills and 18 digs on the evening for SUNY Poly.
- Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) broke the 40 assist mark for the sixth time this season. Johnson recorded 43 assists in the match, moving her career total to 3,513.
- Freshman libero Amanda Batten (Penfield, N.Y.) had 23 digs for the Wildcats.
- Makayla Hulett (Colonie, N.Y.) added 13 kills and two blocks for SUNY Poly.
- Nicole Herringshaw led Utica College with 21 kills.

The Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday October 20th as they will face NEAC rivals Penn State Abington and St. Elizabeth. SUNY Poly currently sits in 7th place in the NEAC heading into the weekend. The Wildcats will face Penn State Abington at 12:00pm, and St. Elizabeth at 2:00pm in the Wildcat Fieldhouse.
