WVB: Wildcats Advance to The NEAC Championship Game With 3-1 Win Over Keuka

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Wildcats women's volleyball won 3-1 over Keuka College in the NEAC Conference Semi-final match today to send the team to the Conference Championship. The Wildcats will match up with Gallaudet University on Sunday at 1:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House.

The match looked like it was going to be a rough one for the Wildcats early. The Wolfpack took the lead in the match after a hard fought first set win 25-22. The Wildcats, backed by an very enthusiastic home crowd, rallied to win the next three sets in convincing fashion 25-17, 25-15, and 25-12. The win was sweet for the Wildcats who suffered their only conference loss to Keuka earlier in the season.

The Wildcats had three players register double digit kill totals. Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) recorded 15, Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) recorded 13 and Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons Sr./Jr. HS) recorded 11. The trio accounted for 39 of the teams 46 kills.

As a team the Wildcats recorded a .256 hitting percentage in the four set match.

Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A. / Lakeside HS) had 42 assists in the match. She also recorded eight digs and a service ace in the match.

The NEAC Championship game between the Gallaudet University Bison and the SUNY Poly Wildcats will start tomorrow at 1:00 PM.
