WASHINGTON, D.C. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team traveled to Washington D.C. this past weekend with their sights set on one thing; clinching the NEAC Regular Season Title. To do so they would have to sweep the weekend, defeating Galladet, Cobleskill, and Morrisville.

First up were the Bison from Gallaudet University. Coming into the match, Gallaudet had a share of first place. The Match went back and forth for five sets. Gallaudet took the first set 28-26, SUNY Poly rebounded in the second taking it 25-21. Gallaudet would take the third set 29-27 but with their backs against the wall the Wildcats would rally to take sets four and five 25-18, 16-14 earning the win and sole possession of first place. Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) recorded 17 kills, three aces, and 22 digs in the match to help lead the Wildcats. Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) put together a nice match as well recording 15 kills, three service aces, and 11 digs.

In the second match the Wildcats cruised to a 3-0 win 25-15, 25-14, 25-15 to defeat SUNY Cobleskill. Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons Sr./Jr. HS) had a match high eight kills to go with eight digs and an ace.  Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A. / Lakeside HS) recorded 26 assists, and Melissa Krak (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota HS) had a team high 10 digs.

The third set went much like the second. The Wildcats won in three sets 25-13, 25-10, 25-17 over Morrisville State. Maureen Krak (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota HS) recorded a match high five service aces. Shelby Kostal (Greenport, N.Y. / Greenport HS) recorded 3 service aces of her own and Megan Will (Remsen, N.Y. / Remsen HS) recorded seven kills on 10 attempts for a .700 hitting percentage.

By winning all three matches the Wildcats improved their record to 22-3 (11-1 NEAC). They sit atop the standings in the NEAC meaning that SUNY Poly will host the NEAC Championships on November 6th, 7ht, and 8th. Schedules will be posted when they become available. The Wildcats take to the road for their next match against Bard on Tuesday. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 start. Live stats and video will be available at the links below.
