WVB: Wildcats Defeat Pioneers 3-1 Extending Winning Streak to Nine

MARCY, N.Y - The Wildcats women's volleyball team hosted Utica College on Tuesday in a hometown rivalry game. Utica came out strong in the first set and beat SUNY Poly 25-18, but the Wildcats bounced back and won the next three sets 25-17, 25-21, 25-18 to secure their ninth victory in a row after dropping the first two matches of the 2015 season.

Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) matched her career high kills with 20 in the match. This marks the second time in four days that Eberley has hit the 20 kills mark. Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) also put together a nice match. She tallied 13 kills, 12 digs, a block assist, and 2 service aces to total 15.5 points.

As a team, the Wildcats registered 60 kills, 60 assists, 61 digs, and 7 service aces in the victory.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday when they host a NEAC Pool Play Event. On Saturday the team will square off with Lancaster Bible at 2:00 PM, and Penn College at 4:30. They will then take on Penn State Berks at 11:00 on Sunday morning.
