WVB: Eberly Records Career High 20 Kills to Lead Wildcats to A Weekend NEAC Sweep.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team traveled to Morrisville this past weekend to compete in a NEAC pool play event. The Wildcats squared off with Penn State Abington and Byrn Athyn on Saturday and St. Elizabeth on Sunday; defeating all three opponents while only dropping a single set.

In the first match the Wildcats beat Penn State Abington in three straight sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-13. Junior Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) led the Wildcats with a match high 9 kills. She registered a .333 hitting percentage. Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons Sr./Jr. HS) recorded a match high 11 digs, 3 service aces, and 8 kills.  For Abington, Sam Amaro led the team with 8 kills and 5 digs.

Byrn Athyn was the opponent for match number two. Again, the Wildcats took care of business winning in four sets 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16. Senior Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) set a new career high with 20 kills in the match. This surpasses her prior mark of 13 kills in 2014. Morgan also added a pair of service aces and 6 digs to her stat line. Larson also had another big match. She recorded 12 kills and 9 digs. Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A. / Lakeside HS) recorded a season high 38 assists and 18 digs.  

Sundays match against St. Elizabeth went much like their first two. SUNY swept the match and the weekend by going 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 in three sets. Megan Will (Remsen, N.Y. / Remsen HS) recorded 6 kills and 3.5 blocks (2 solo and 3 assisted) in the match. Eberley added another 7 kills bringing her weekend total to 29.  

The weekend sweep brings the Wildcats record to 8-2 (3-0 NEAC). The Wildcats will be back in action on Tuesday when they host cross-town rival Utica College. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM at the Wildcat Field House.
