WVB: Wildcats Split at SUNY Canton Invitational.

CANTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Volleyball team traveled to Canton this weekend to compete in the SUNY Canton Invitational. The Wildcats suffered their second loss of the season to Plymouth State in the first match of the tournament 3-1. In the second match they secured their first win of the 2015-16 season against SUNY Potsdam in shutout fashion 3-0.

In the first match, the Wildcats went 25-21, 15-25, 25-6, 25-20. Ultimately it came down to errors made by the Cats'. Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) recorded a match high 18 kills. Senior Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) had 14 kills and tied for a team high 12 digs with Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons Sr./Jr. HS).

The second match of the tournament was a quick three set win for the Wildcats; 25-20, 26-24, 25-23. Potsdam fought hard to stay in each and every set but the Wildcats prevailed 3-0. Emma Larson had another big match recording a match high 14 kills along with 11 digs. Maureen Krak (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota HS) registered a team high 23 assists in the match.  

The split brings the Wildcats to 1-2 on the year. The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday, September 11th versus Lasell at SUNY Platsburgh. First match will start at 8:00 PM.
