Wildcats Finish Regular Season with Program Record 28 Wins after Sweeping NJCU Quad; Harrington, Jackowski Named to All-Tournament Team

JERSEY CITY, N.J. –The SUNYIT Women's Volleyball Team (28-4, 9-1 NEAC) swept all three of their matches in straight sets on Saturday, finishing the regular season with a program record 28 wins.

The mark of 28 obliterates the previous program record of 21 wins, set back in 2010.

Wildcat senior Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, N.Y. / Paul V. Moore) took home MVP honors for the one-day tournament, finishing with 28 kills in three matches while leading the Wildcats in that category during 2 of the 3 matches.

Harrington's best match of the day came in the final against the host team New Jersey City University. Harrington finished that match with 11 kills on just 16 attempts, good for a .625 hitting percentage.

Joining Harrington on the All-Tournament team from SUNYIT was team co-captain and senior Taviot Jackowski (LaFayette, N.Y. / LaFayette). Jackowski played nearly error-free volleyball in her three sets, making just 3 service errors on the day while committing no reception errors.

After claiming a share of the NEAC Regular Season Championship, the Wildcats will now head to NEAC Tournament host Gallaudet in two weeks. SUNYIT is scheduled to face Keuka (whom the Wildcats defeated 3-0 in the two teams' only prior matchup this year on Oct. 6th) on Saturday, November 9th. Match time is yet to be announced.
