WSOC: Wildcats Drop a NEAC Game to Cazenovia 3-0.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team lost their second North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game of the season on Saturday at home. SUNY Poly and Cazenovia played a clean first half where neither team could find the net, but that all changed in the second half. Cazenovia scored three goals in 10 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead that would hold out for the duration of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After 50 minutes of scoreless soccer, Cazenovia finally broke through and scored the first goal at the 51 minute mark. Dimetria McIntyre scored the goal for Cazenovia when she gathered a rebound off the right post for an open net opportunity. Cazenovia would score two more quick goals in the 54th minute and the 61st minute to put away the game.

NOTABLES:

  • The Wildcats managed to put just one shot on goal in the game.
  • Alysia Thomas (Greenville, N.Y.) was on the losing end of the decision. The sophomore made five saves in 56 minutes of play.
  • Honesti Cochran (Wingdale, N.Y.) made three saves in 33 minutes. The appearance in goal was the first of her collegiate career.
  • Dimetria McIntyre, Michaela Breeze, and Jordan Lidell scored Cazenovia's three goals. All three goals were unassisted.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will play their next game on the road at Keuka College. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 PM start. The Wolves are 3-0 in conference play this season and are 4-3 on the year. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 0-0 tie in double overtime.
