WSOC: Stedman and Harrison Score In The 2nd Half To Give The Wildcats A 2-1 Win Over MCLA.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Wildcats (3-1-0) defeated MCLA (0-5-0) on Tuesday thanks to some clutch second half scoring. The MCLA Trailblazers struck first on a Brooke Mangiardi goal early in the first half. Facing a deficit in the second half, the Wildcat forwards went to work, scoring two goals to give the Cats' their third win of the season.

The Goals

- In the second half, sophomore Shannon Harrison (Holland Patent, N.Y.) found a through ball up the middle from senior mid-fielder McKenna Hungerford (Morris, N.Y.) to score the first goal for the Wildcats.

- Nakeya Stedman (Sauquoit, N.Y.) came in hungry for the Wildcats after returning from a foot injury at the beginning of the season. She scored her first goal of the season, giving the Wildcats to a 2-1 lead. Hungerford was again the facilitator,  making a beautiful sliding through pass to Stedman who used her speed to outrun two defenders. With just the goalkeeper to beat, Stedman finished the play with a hard shot to the left side to score what would be the game winner.

Goalkeeper Angela Bartlett (West Winfield, N.Y.) finished with 3 saves for the Wildcats. Megan Richardson came up with 11 saves for MCLA.
