MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's soccer team won on Saturday in exciting fashion. The Wildcats got out in front 2-0 early in the game on two goals in the first 10 minutes only to have the Mustangs of Morrisville State fight their way back into the game to force overtime. The Wildcats came out of the gate strong, charging the Mustangs and netting the game winner just 1:59 into the overtime period for the 3-2 win.

Nakeya Stedman (Sauquoit, N.Y.) had a fantastic game, scoring fast and scoring often. The sophomore scored two goals in the game including the walk-off, unassisted goal in overtime. Her first goal opened up the game for the Wildcat offensive charge in just the third minute of the game. Stedman now has three goals on the season and shows no sign of slowing down.

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) netted her third goal of the season in the win on a breakaway goal in the 10th minute of the game to give the Wildcats an early 2-0 lead. She is tied with Stedman for goals scored this season.

Angela Bartlett (West Winfield, N.Y.) made a season high nine saves in goal for the Wildcats on 11 shots and earned her third win of the year. Her .857 save percentage is second best in the NEAC.

Jessica Adam scored both goals for the Mustangs in the game. The goals were her first two of the season.

The Wildcats are now 3-0-1 (1-0 NEAC) on the year. The team will be back in action on Sunday September 11th when they will host Cazenovia College. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start.
