UTICA, N.Y. – Several athletes from SUNYIT and Utica College were honored Friday afternoon at the Fort Schuyler Club for their selections this past year as Mohawk Valley Collegiate Athletes of the Month.
READING, PA – The SUNYIT Women’s Soccer season came to a close on Saturday, as the Wildcats lost their NEAC Tournament Semifinal match up with the host team, Penn St.-Berks. After dispatching the host team’s sister school, Penn St.-Abington, in a thrilling game decided by a shootout on Wednesday, the Wildcats fell to Berks by a score of 4 to 0.
Sarah Conover scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the home team, while on the defensive end the Nittany Lions’ did a good job of keeping Wildcat forward Dakota Hanley (Franklin, N.Y. / Franklin Central) in check. The junior was held scoreless for just the second time in her last 12 games.
Aubrey Campbell (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) put forward a valiant effort in goal for SUNYIT with 8 saves, but the 22 to 10 shot advantage for Penn St.-Berks ultimately decided the game.
SUNYIT finishes with a 10-10-1 overall record, while finishing 8-4-0 in the NEAC.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – NEAC All-Conference selections for men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball were released on Friday, and once again the SUNYIT Wildcats were well-represented.

ABINGTON, PA – Just like the SUNYIT Men’s Soccer game earlier in the day, the first round of the women’s NEAC Conference Tournament on Wednesday came down to a penalty kick shootout after two overtimes proved insufficient to break a 1-1 stalemate. Fortunately for the Lady Wildcats, however, the similarities ended there, as the women went on to defeat home team Penn St.-Abington 4 to 2 in the shootout.

The talented Nittany Lions improved to 6-0 in conference with the win on Sunday, but the Wildcats remain very much in the hunt at 3-2 and tied for fifth in the NEAC with Keuka.
MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Wildcats played an excellent game on the road Saturday beating the Morrisville State Mustangs 8-2 to earn their 3rd conference win in as many games.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women’s Soccer Team mounted a gutsy comeback in the second half against the visiting Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers on Thursday night, falling just short by a score of 3-2. With the win the Panthers improved to 3-1-0 on the year, while the Wildcats fell to 3-3-0.

The Wildcats rode a clutch goal by Kristina Strang (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Schalmont HS) in the 86th minute of the game to victory.

ALFRED, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women’s Soccer Team (1-1-0) beat Sage College on Sunday with a convincing 5-2 victory. The Wildcats lost on the tournament’s first day to host team Alfred University by a score of 3-1.

MARCY, N.Y. – The 2012 SUNYIT Women’s Soccer Team begins their season on the road at Alfred University next Saturday, September 1st. This year’s team will have a whole different look from the 2011 version, and with an intriguing blend of experience and youth, the organization hopes “different” will include a NEAC Championship Banner. In 2011 the Wildcats lost 1-0 in the first round of the NEAC Tournament to Penn St.-Harrisburg.
