WLAX: Wildcats Suffer Tough Loss to Morrisville State

Marcy, N.Y. –   The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team (4-8, 2-5 NEAC) suffered a conference loss to the Morrisville State Mustangs (6-1, 4-1 NEAC) in the matchup held at Morrisville this Saturday.

 

The SUNY Poly Wildcats started out going goal for goal with the Mustangs in the first half. The strong offense of the Mustangs outscored the Wildcats in the second half 11-2. Morrisville extended their lead in the second half to earn the 22-8 win.

 

STAT POINTS:

  • Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) had a team high six points with four goals and two assists. She also picked up twelve draw controls for the Wildcats.
  • Mari Ames (Carthage, N.Y.) had two goals for the Wildcats.
  • Goalkeeper Felicia Bianca (Guilderland, N.Y.) had thirteen saves for SUNY Poly.
  • Gianna Branca had a game high nine points for the Mustangs, finishing with six goals and three assists.
  • Courtney Cavellier had four goals and one assist for Morrisville State.
  • Goalkeepers Marissa Woodard and Sara Gelster combined for three saves for the Mustangs.

The Wildcats will hit the road to face against the Wildcats of Cazenovia College on Wednesday April 25th. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
