MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team celebrated senior day today, honoring the four seniors from their team in a short ceremony before their last home game of the season against Lancaster Bible. The Wildcats narrowly took down the Chargers in the game 15-14.

The Wildcats battled the Chargers to a tie in the first half thanks to two goals in the last 15 seconds, one by Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.) and one by Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.). In the second half, SUNY Poly scored three of four goals to open the half, but Lancaster Bible had an answer; four unanswered goals in a two minute stretch. Trailing 13-11 with just five minutes on the clock, the Wildcat offense sprung to life with freshman Kayla Prosinski in the middle of it all. Prosinski had two goals and an assist in the last five minutes of the game scoring the game tying and go-ahead goal. Krysta Beha would put the cherry on the top of the win in the final minute with a goal that ended up being the difference maker.   

Krysta Beha had a monster game on senior day. Beha surpassed yet another milestone in what has been a fantastic career. Entering the game, Beha needed just three points to record the 250th of her career. She would get her 250th point on a goal in the second half. Beha also set a new SUNY Poly single game record with 10 caused turnovers, surpassing her own single game record of eight earlier this season. Beha also tied her single game groundballs record by scooping up 10 in the game. Beha finished the game with six points on four goals and two assists.

Kayla Prosinski had a game high seven points for the Wildcats. Prosinski had four goals, three assists, four draw controls, two caused turnovers, and a groundball in the game.

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y.) had four goals for the Wildcats at the mid-field position. Ames had three caused turnovers, three draw controls, and five groundballs in the game. Ames was very efficient in the game, landing eight of nine shots on goal.

Jenny Maxam (Clinton, N.Y.) had a nice game in her return to the field. The sophomore had two goals, two assists, and two groundballs in the game. Her speed brought a dimension to the Wildcat offense that they had been missing since her injury.

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. She made 14 saves on 26 shots and had a groundball. The win was her seventh of the season.

For Lancaster Alyssa Wesner had a team high four goals, three groundballs, and a caused turnover. Myranda Kemrer had three goals and a game high six draw controls. Katy Stover and Naomi Otis had three points each. Stover had two goals and an assist, Otis had a goal and two assists. Nicolette Statuti made 16 saves in goal but was tagged with the loss.

The Wildcats are now 7-4 overall and are 4-3 in the NEAC, tying them for third place with Medaille. The Wildcats have this entire week off from competition allowing the team time to rest up for the last two games of the season next weekend against Hilbert and Medaille.
