MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse earned a big conference win on Friday evening against rival Cazenovia College. The Wildcats needed to make a big comeback after trailing Cazenovia 6-1 at the half. The Wildcats would get some stellar play in the second half to mount the comeback, ultimately winning 12-10.

The Wildcats were forced to play two down in the game due to injury and illness, but that would not stop the resilient team from playing a fantastic game. The Wildcats took 27 shots in the game, landing 21 of them on goal. Cazenovia took 21 shots landing 16 on goal. The Wildcats forced 21 turnovers in the game, a season high, and won the groundball game 23-11.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.) led all players with six points on five goals and an assist. The senior had four goals and an assist in the second half; two game tying and one go ahead game winner. On the defensive side of the ball, Beha had a game high eight caused turnovers, a SUNY Poly single game record. Beha also had four assist and four draw controls.

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y.) entered today's game needing just two goals to reach the 100 goal mark in her career. The junior put up three goals, all in the second half, to reach and surpass the mark while helping her team earn the win. Ames played a great all-around game, with season highs in groundballs (4), caused turnovers (5), and draw controls (4).

Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) had four points in the game for the Wildcats on two goals and two assists. She also had four groundballs, three caused turnovers, and a draw control.

Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y.) and Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with a goal each.   

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) earned her sixth win of the year in goal making six saves in the game, five of which were in the second half.

For Cazenovia, Breana Howe had four points on three goals and an assist. Amanda Dyer scored two goals on two shots. Gianna Dixie had two goals and a groundball. Abigail Kortz made nine saves but was tagged with the loss in goal.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 6-3 on the season and are now 3-2 in NEAC Play. The Wildcats will be back on the field tomorrow afternoon when they host Morrisville State. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field.
