ABINGTON, Pa. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team traveled to Pennsylvania this past weekend to take on Bryn Athyn and Penn State Abington in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games. The Wildcats split the pair of games, beating Bryn Athyn 11-10, and losing to Abington 26-10.

GAME 1

The Wildcats faced the Bryn Athyn Lions on Saturday, narrowly earning a win. The Lions took an early 3-0 lead, holding the Wildcats scoreless through the first 20 minutes. SUNY Poly would break through to score their first goal with 9:07 left in the first half. The Wildcats would score just one more goal in the half, while Bryn Athyn would tack on two more; taking a 5-2 lead into the second half.

The Wildcats came out of the locker room with a sense of urgency in the second half. Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.) scored two goals in four minutes to bring the Wildcats within striking distance, which the team took advantage. The Wildcats went on to outscore the Lions 7-5 down the stretch to secure the narrow victory, their second conference win of the season.

Krysta Beha had six goals and an assist for a game high seven points, bringing her season total to 45. Beha landed 12 of her 15 shots on goal and had a game high 11 draw controls. Beha also had a game high three caused turnovers and a team high four groundballs.

Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) and Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y.) each had three points on a goal and two assists. Prosinski had two draw controls, a caused turnover, and a groundball. Ames landed all three of her shots on goal.

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. She made eight saves.

For Bryn Athyn, Hannah Bracey had a team high six points on five goals and an assist. Kyla Rogers had four points on three goals and an assist. Briitan Gunther had a team high four groundballs. Brenna Sweeney had a team high five draw controls.

GAME 2

The Wildcats suffered a tough loss on Sunday against Penn State Abington. The Wildcats were outscored in both halves of the game. Abington took 42 shots on goal in the game. Goalie Brittany Waterbury made a career high 16 saves.

Krysta Beha and Mari Ames had a team high five points. Beha had three goals, two assists, seven groundballs, nine draw controls, and a team high four caused turnovers. Ames had four goals, an assist, a groundball, and a draw control.

Kayla Prosinski had three points on two goals and an assist. Prosinski had a team high nine groundballs.

For Abington, Marah Hayes and Melissa Felicity each had eight points. Hayes had four goals and four assists, a game high 11 groundballs, a game high 10 draw controls, and a game high five caused turnovers. Felicity had six goals, two assists, a groundball, and a caused turnover. Alynn Phelan had four goals, two caused turnovers, and two groundballs. Meg Danella had two saves and earned the win in goal.

With the weekend split, the Wildcats overall record stands at 5-3 with a NEAC record of 2-2. The Wildcats next game is on Friday, April 14th at SUNY Poly's Wildcat field against Cazenovia. The rematch of last years NEAC Championship is scheduled for a 5:00 PM start.
