WLAX: Wildcats Beaten by Canton at Home 15-10

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse lost their second game of the 2017 season on Wednesday night at the hands of SUNY Canton 15-10. The Wildcats played the Kangaroos tight for the majority of the game, keeping the score close until the last 10 minutes of the game. Canton scored four goals down the stretch to put the game out of reach and secure the win.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.), Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y.), and Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) each had a team high four points.

Beha had three goals, an assist, a game high nine draw controls, a game high six caused turnovers, and a game high seven groundballs in the game.

Prosinski finished the game with two goals, two assists, a draw control, and two draw controls.

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y.) had three points on a goal and two assists in the game.

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) played well in goal for the Wildcats. She made a career high nine saves in the game.

For Canton, Maryclare Bowes had a game high six goals on eight shots and had a groundball. Katelynn Nutter had three goals and two assists in the game. Molly Denny had a team high five caused turnovers. Becca Kieffer earned the win in goal for the Kangaroos. She made nine saves.

The Wildcat's are now 4-2 on the year. The team will be back in action this weekend when they travel south to take on Bryn Athyn and Penn State Abington in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games. On Saturday the Wildcats will take on Bryn Athyn at noon and on Sunday the Wildcats will face Penn State Abington at 1:00 PM.
