WLAX: Beha Scores Her 100th Goal As Wildcats Improve to 6-1

ABINGTON, P.A. - With 7:40 remaining in the game on Saturday afternoon, Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) drove to goal and scored an unassisted tally for her 28th goal of the season. With that goal, the junior's career total reached 100, making her the first SUNY Poly women's lacrosse player to ever reach such a feat. 

Beha's five goals came in a 20-4 win over Penn St.-Abington (2-5, 1-1 NEAC). With the win, the Wildcats improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the NEAC Conference. SUNY Poly's 6-1 record marks the best start through seven games in program history. 

Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage HS) led the visitors with eight points, matching Beha's five goals and adding three assists. Several Wildcats recorded multiple points on the game with Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie HS) and Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage HS) tallying five apiece. Jenny Maxam (Clinton, N.Y. / Clinton HS) added four on three goals and an assist and Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) scored two goals and added an assist for her three points. 

Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili HS) and Beha each scooped up a game-high five ground balls. Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown HS) recorded game-highs in seven draw controls and two caused turnovers.

The Wildcats look to remain undefeated in the conference when they return to play at 3:00 pm today against Bryn Athyn.
