Women's Lacrosse Falls 13-11 at Keuka

KEUKA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (5-6, 3-3 NEAC) was unable to overcome a first half deficit against Keuka (7-2, 5-0 NEAC) falling 13-11 on Saturday afternoon.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) led the way for the Wildcats with five points on three goals and two assists.

SUNY Poly got off to a fast start scoring two goals in the first 3:35 to take a 2-1 advantage. The Wolfpack then put together a five goal run over an eight minute span to go ahead 6-2. Beha would score two more in the half, but Keuka scored three more to hold a 9-4 lead headed into the break.

Keuka opened the scoring in the second half but Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage) answered back to keep a five goal differential. After the Wolfpack scored one more the Wildcats went on a five goal run of their own, two coming from Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili), to cut the home team's lead to 11-10. Keuka got the final say scoring two of the last three to secure their win.

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage) added four points on two goals and two assist while Serota finished with three points on two goals and an assist. Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie) and Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) each added a goal to round out the scoring for the Wildcats.

Tierney McGlynn (Watervliet, N.Y. Watervliet) led the defense with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Cassidy Thompson (Weedsport, N.Y. / Weedsport) got the decision in goal with seven saves.

SUNY Poly returns to action tomorrow at Wells at 1:00 pm.
