Women’s Lacrosse Opens Conference Play With Road Victory

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (3-2, 1-0 NEAC) picked up their first conference win Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats used a first half shutout to beat Bryn Athyn (0-4, 0-2 NEAC) 14-3.

Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage) and Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) led SUNY Poly with 4 goals apiece. Beha also led the team in points with 5, adding an assist on the day.

Freshman Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage) opened up the scoring just 23 seconds into the game. Four other players would contribute goals throughout the half to give the Wildcats a 10-0 advantage going into halftime.

The second half was played much slower than the first with the Wildcats scoring four goals, two of which were from Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro). Bryn Athyn would add three goals from three different players throughout the half.

Dodge and Ames finished the game with 3 and 2 goals respectively, while freshman Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) added one of her own.

Erica Maisonet (Wallkill, N.Y. / Wallkill) led the defense with 3 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers. Tierney McGlynn (Watervliet, N.Y. / Watervliet) had a team-high 5 draw controls as well as a caused turnover.

Cassidy Thompson (Watervliet, N.Y. / Watervliet) and Casey McBride (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. / Pleasantville) split time between the pipes, each playing for a half.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday night in a home conference game against Morrisville St.
