Wildcats fall to Canton

CANTON, N.Y.- The SUNYIT Women's Lacrosse team (5-3, 4-1 NEAC) dropped a tough nonconference battle to SUNY Canton (8-4) by the score of 15-5.

The Kangaroos jumped out to an early lead as they scored twice within the first 30 seconds of the game. They would continue to extend their lead to 7-0 before an Ana Exposto (Lisbon, Portugal / Amer. Int'l School of Mozambique) free position goal got the Wildcats on the board. Canton had the answers though as they continued to tack on goals, taking a 12-3 lead into the half.

The Wildcats Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y./ Colonie) did her part to keep the visitors in the game as she scored two of her team high 4 goals in the second half . The Canton attack proved to be too much however as they were able to take down the Wildcats 15-5.

Canton's Keeley Rice led all scorers with 5 goals in the game, while Hannah Christiansen did her part as she added 3.

The Wildcats are back in action Friday as they return to NEAC play with a visit to Cazenovia College at 4:00 pm .
