Third-Straight Victory for Women's Lacrosse is Program's Best Start

CHAMBERSBURG, PA.- The SUNYIT Women's Lacrosse team (3-0, 2-0 NEAC) extended their best start in the 3 year history of the team with a 22-0 win over Wilson College (0-3, 0-2 NEAC) Saturday.

The Wildcats shot out to a 16-0 halftime lead in the game and would tack on 6 more second half goals to secure the victory.

Cassidy Thompson (Weedsport, N.Y./ Weedsport) improved to 3-0 in goal making one save in the game and recording the first shutout in the history of the SUNYIT Women's lacrosse program. Thompson got plenty of help from the Wildcat defense as they forced Wilson into 26 team turnovers and held them to just two shots.

The game also marked the most goals scored in the 3-year history of
the women's lacrosse program. The Wildcats used a very balanced attack led by Jenna Lashua (Heuvelton, N.Y./ Heuvelton) who tallied 5 goals along with Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y./ Whitesboro) who had 4 goals and 4 assists to help earn the victory. All in all, 10 Wildcats found the back of the net in the game as the team attack proved to be too much.

Wilson's net minder Alexis Ankro did her part to contain the Wildcat attack as she recorded 20 saves in the game.

The Wildcats are back in action April 5th as they host St. Elizabeth College for a NEAC showdown at 1:00 pm
