Wildcat Offense Stays Hot En Route to First NEAC Win of the Season

LANCASTER, PA.- The SUNYIT Women's Lacrosse team (2-0, 1-0 NEAC) again showed off their high powered offense as they netted 19 goals in their NEAC opening 19-1 win against Lancaster Bible College (0-7, 0-1 NEAC).

The Wildcats sprinted out to an early lead as senior Taviot Jackowski (Lafayette, N.Y./ Lafayette) found the back of the net just 23 seconds into the game. It didn't take long for the Wildcats to strike again as Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y./ Whitesboro) netted her first of 6 goals just over a minute later to extend the early lead. The Wildcats would continue to score, tallying 14 first half goals and taking a 14-0 advantage into halftime.

The second half also belonged to the Wildcats as they continued to control the offensive end of the field. The Wildcats tacked on 4 second half goals two of which came from the stick of senior Jenn Bullock (Bronx, N.Y./ NYC Museum) before the Chargers got on the board. Lancaster Bible's Emily Martz scored the lone Charger goal on an unassisted shot just 4 minutes into the second half. The Wildcats were able to tack on another late goal and stay sharp on defense finishing the game with the 19-1 victory.

Junior Goalkeeper Cassidy Thompson (Weedsport, N.Y./ Weedsport) played a big role in the victory holding the Chargers to just one goal and making 3 saves.  The Wildcat offense was led by Krysta Beha who netted 6 goals and Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y./ Colonie) who added 4 goals on just 6 shots. Taviot Jackowski was also able to tack on 3 goals and 3 assists to help lead the Wildcat attack.

The Wildcats look to continue their success and improve upon their hot start as they visit Wilson College tomorrow at 9 am
