UTICA, N.Y. – Several SUNYIT student-athletes from the baseball and women's lacrosse teams helped prepare and serve food at the Utica Rescue Mission's Food Service center on Sunday.

SUNYIT student-athletes are scheduled to volunteer at the Rescue Mission at various times throughout the months of September and October, with more dates hopefully to come.

Notable volunteers on Sunday included women's lacrosse players Jen Bullock (Bronx, N.Y.), Jenna Lashua (Heuvelton, N.Y.), Cassidy Thompson, Nicole DiPiazza (Albany, N.Y.), and Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.), along with baseball-team-hopefuls John Calabrese (New Hartford, N.Y.), Joe Cascella (Staten Island, N.Y.), and Ray Smith (Staten Island, N.Y.).

These student-athletes would like to extend a big thank-you to the Rescue Mission for the opportunity to help serve its community, and a special thank-you to Rescue Mission employees Willie and Stephen for welcoming the students into their workplace!
