WBB: Smith's Six Threes Lead Wildcats to a Win Over Utica 67-55.

MARCY, N.Y. - The Wildcat women's basketball team (5-2) took down local rival Utica College (3-4) on Saturday afternoon 67-55. The Wildcats scored nearly half of their points from beyond the three-point line where they shot 32 percent, draining 10 three-pointers as a team.

After going just four for 26 from three-point range in the first half, the Wildcats drained six of 15 in the second half. Rylie Smith (St. Johnsville, N.Y.) scored all of her points in the game on three pointers. She went six for 10 from three and six for 11 from the field. Smith also pulled down five rebounds and dished out two assists in her 29 minutes of play.

Kiersten Leos (Camden, N.Y.) had a slow start in the game. After missing her first four shots in the game, a layup took the lid off. Leos would go on to tie Smith with a team high 18 points on six of 18 shooting. Leos had a team high three steals, five rebounds, and two assists.

Khristaijah Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) recorded her third double-double of the season and her 15th of her Wildcat career. Jackson had 15 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Jackson also had a game high three blocks and an assist.

For Utica, Ashelyne Babb scored a team high 18 points for the Pioneers. Alaina Tripp had a game high 12 rebounds. As a team the Pioneers shot 31 percent, but hit the offensive glass hard snagging 21 of their 47 total rebounds on offensive possessions.

The team will take part in the Trip Sports "Las Vegas Hoopla" where they will face Concordia University a 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19th and Hastings College at 12:00 PM on Wednesday December 20th.
