WBB: Wildcats Improve to 11-1 in NEAC With 75-64 Win Over Morrisville.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team traveled to Morrisville for the second of two season matchups between the Wildcats and Mustangs. The Wildcats earned their 11th Conference win of the season 75-64.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent in the first quarter and outscored the Mustangs by eight points. In the second the Wildcats extended their lead to 10 and headed into the locker room at the half up 35-25. Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) shot 7-14 from the field and had 17 points in the half. The Mustangs would threaten a comeback on multiple occasions in the third and fourth quarter, but the Wildcats were able to keep the lead, ultimately winning by 11.

Stevie Ray ended up shooting 46 percent from the field and drained 5 three pointers. She had a game high 27 points. Ray also had five rebounds, four steals, and an assist.

Khristajiah Jackson (Levittown Pa.) had 17 points, shooting 54 percent. The junior also had five rebounds, four steals and a block.

Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with seven rebounds and had a solid night from the field scoring 10 points on four of six shooting.

For Morrisville Haley Kilmartin had a team high 13 points. Kilmartin also had two rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in the game. Marissa Woodard had 12 points and Jordan Anderson had 11. Charlotte Walker had a game high 11 rebounds and scored eight points.

The Wildcats are now 17-2 this season and are 11-1 in NEAC play. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday when they host Cobleskill at 1:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym.
