INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Rules Committees for Men’s and Women’s Basketball proposed changes for next season during their annual meetings last week in Indianapolis.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women’s Basketball Team (15-9, 13-4 NEAC) saw their season come to an end Tuesday night at the unlikely hands of the Wells College Express. While the Wells program is only three seasons old, Tuesday’s victory marks the first time the Wildcats have ever lost to the Express.

After the game, SUNYIT senior Lyndsey Brognano (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy) was honored for becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer earlier in the season. Brognano broke a record that had stood for almost 30 years at SUNYIT, and was also featured in the sports section of the Utica Observer –Dispatch today.
COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women’s Basketball Team (9-7, 7-3 NEAC) were upset for the second time this season at SUNY Cobleskill (6-12, 5-7 NEAC) Wednesday night, losing a wrestling match to the Fighting Tigers, 59-56. The two teams combined for 44 fouls and 41 turnovers in the game.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Lyndsey Brognano (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy) has been selected the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after an outstanding week for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats. Brognano, a senior guard helped the Wildcats secure three conference victories this past week, averaging 20.7 points, 7.7 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 2 steals per game. MARCY, N.Y. - After posting a remarkable 31 team assists yesterday in a win over St. Elizabeth, the Wildcats (6-5, 4-1 NEAC) once again spread the wealth, recording 21 assists in a win over Penn St.-Abington (7-6, 5-1 NEAC).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – At least somebody in D.C. was working through the weekend, as the SUNYIT Women’s Basketball Team (3-5, 1-1 NEAC) rebounded from a tough loss to NEAC South rival Penn St.-Harrisburg yesterday to carry out a convincing win over the Gallaudet Bison (2-9, 0-4 NEAC) Sunday afternoon, 75-54. With the win the Wildcats improve to 1-1 in conference play, earning a solid split on their first conference weekend.

MARCY, N.Y. - Both the men's and women's basketball teams will play their first home games of the season this Friday at the Campus Center Gymnasium. The two teams play host to the Red Dragons of Cortland St., with the women's game starting first at 6:00 pm, to be followed by the men's game at 8:00 pm.
MARCY, N.Y. – The Lady Wildcats (1-3) grabbed their first victory of the season in style Friday night, beating the Cortland State Red Dragons (3-5) at home, 87-72. SUNYIT shot the lights out, hitting on 46% of their shots for the game and a whopping 55% of their three-point attempts.
ALBANY, N.Y. – SUNYIT (0-3) lost another close one on the road Sunday afternoon as the Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers (5-1) won at home, 69-64. SUNYIT pulled to within two in the second half, but just couldn’t get over the hump against a Panther team that’s off to a hot start in 2012 at 5-1.
OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNYIT Women's Basketball Team (0-1) fell to the Oswego State Lakers 69-38 on Friday night in the first round of the Max Ziel Tournament, hosted by the Lakers.
