COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's cross country team came in first overall with a score of 32 points at the Stephen A. Warde Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8. The Wildcats had six top ten finishers helping to secure the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore Noah Valvo (Town of Wright, N.Y.) covered the 8k course in an outstanding 28:49.13. He placed fourth overall.  
• Jesse Chain (Campbell Hall, N.Y.), Garrett Jones (New Hartford, N.Y.), Derek Smith (Greece, N.Y.), and Ian Kurzrock (Woodbourne, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats finishing in fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth place respectively.
• Although host SUNY Cobleskill's top runners picked up the first and second individual times, their team came in second place with 54 points.

SUNY Poly travels to Lancaster, Pa. for the Charger Invitational. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Sept.15. The last time the Wildcats competed at Lancaster Bible was in 2016 when the Wildcats won their 3rd NEAC Championship in as many years.
