MVB: Goggin Surpasses 2,000 Career Assists in Loss to Arcadia.

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Wildcats lost their second match of the day on Saturday to Arcadia 3-1. The Wildcats struggled to settle into a grove. As a team they hit better than Arcadia, but could not finish out a set losing by two points in all three losing sets.

Entering the match, Zach Goggin (Feeding Hills, Mass.) needed just nine assists to surpass 2,000 career assists. Goggin recorded 51 assists in the game, surpassing reaching 2,042. He is the third Wildcat to reach the milestone and is just 34 assists shy of second on the all-time list. Goggin also had three kills, one service ace, and six digs in the match.

Max Szuba (Irondequoit, N.Y.) had a game high 17 kills on 36 swings. He also had a block assist and eight digs in the match.

Ryan Gloff (Brockport, N.Y.) had 13 kills and hit a solid .300 on 30 attempts. Gloff also had a service ace and a dig.

For Arcadia, Robie Montezuma had a team high 12 kills. Jarod Pichler had a match high four service aces.

The Wildcats are now 7-5 overall. The team will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Kean University to take on Kean at 12:00 and Emmanuel College at 3:00.
