MSOC: Labbe's Two Goals Help Wildcats Earn Second Win of 2017.

ALFRED, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Wildcats (2-4) earned their second win of the season on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Alfred State (1-5-1). The Wildcats came out gunning in the first half, striking first at the 17 minute mark and again at the 33 minute mark. The Wildcats would go to the locker room at halftime with a 2-1 lead. The lead would be extended to 3-1 in the 63rd minute on a goal off a corner kick by the Wildcats.

 

The Goals

- Amadou Ndiaye (Harlem, N.Y.) scored the Wildcats first goal on a double assist by Wyatt Snell (Parishville, N.Y.) and Ronaldo Charlton (Queens Village, N.Y.). The goal was Amadou's first of his career.

- The next two goals for the Wildcats were scored by Tyler Labbe (Windsor Locks, Conn.), both off corner kicks. The first was a header that was assisted by Gerry Thermill (Valley Stream, N.Y.). The second was a straight header by Labbe off a Zach Joseph (Oneonta, N.Y.) corner kick.

 

The three-goal outburst was the most by the Wildcats this season. The team's 18 shots tied their season high that they set last game against Bard.

Alexander Gigliotti (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. He is now 2-3 on the year.

 

Up Next

The Wildcats will open up their conference game schedule on Saturday. The team will travel to Williamsport Pennsylvania to take on Penn College. The Penn College Wildcats are 2-5 on the season. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
